Bebop Lobo/Loco

Bebop Loco first shows up on the Firesign Theatre’s 1998 album: “Give me Immortality or give me Death” on Rhino Records. I thought of him based actually on the name of a high school quarterback for an LA area football team combined with the experiences of me and the Blonde Bombshell on our many camping expeditions in recent years to the Sonora Desert world of elephant/boojum trees and the mighty Organ Pipe cacti and the tiny flowers and the chollas and barrels and horsecripplers of the Tohono O’odham world of south Arizona, also known as North Mexico.

new beginnings

What a weekend. Last night at one thirty in the dead of night a coyote or a coyote and its little buddies dragged the carcass of a dead deer fawn onto the nice flat roof of our garage and proceeded to eat it. My dog Bodie (Destroyer of Bears) and the new puppy went up the hill and laid into them. Finally I had to get up and drag the poor deer off into the woods and everyone quieted down. The coyote – a big silver animal in excellent health – grumbled at me. Coyote eyes shining in the night.

The mystery begins … tonight is the anniversary of my father’s death some years ago. A mysterious date and time.
